Pilgrim Cross

The Oxford Leg of Pilgrim Cross (more info below) will be passing through Tibenham this year. They are calling in at the Community Hall on Monday 25 March for a lunch stop. The Hall will be providing hot drinks but we'd also like to show them our full hospitality by providing lunch. They expect around 20 people will be taking part, so if you'd like to get involved and are able to supply a sandwich or two, a slice of cake or some fruit, please contact Julie on 01379 674427, 07774 308343 or email hall.booking@tibenham.org.uk. The Hall will be open from 11am on the day for any donations to be dropped off.

Pilgrim Cross (formerly Student Cross) is an Easter pilgrimage that walks every year to Walsingham - an ancient site of pilgrimage in Norfolk. They live and walk in community for seven days before spending an amazing weekend celebrating Easter in the ruins of Walsingham Abbey. The pilgrimage has many different ‘legs’, starting from different places in the country, which join together on Good Friday in Walsingham. Participants range in age, from young families to those in their 70s.

They walk with a large wooden cross, taking it in turns to carry it. They pray, talk, sing, and live in a community for a week, sleeping in church halls and are hosted by parishes along the way who provide meals and refreshments. They are an ecumenical Christian pilgrimage and welcome people of all faiths and none!
